Poojpanjali

Comme son nom l'indique,Poo anjali est une offrande aux fleurs au tout début du spectacle.

La danseuse tient aux creux de ses mains une poignée de fleurs de jasmin, pétales de rose qu'elle va déposer aux pieds de la divinité (Lord Nataraj), en marque de dévotion.

Ainsi durant cette danse, la première partie de la chorégraphie se réalise avec les mains en Anjali et un travail de jambes et le corps bien droit.

Puis l'on salue la Divinité ainsi que le public avec le Namaskar (la révérence/ prière).

Enfin la danse se termine avec un passage technique et un Abhinaya (ou l'on exprime les émotions, les sentiments de dévotion face au Dieu)

Dans l'extrait suivant, ce Poojpanjali est en l'honneur du Dieu Ganesh.

C'est un adi thala. 

As it says, Poo Anjali is a Flowers offer at the beginning of the performance.
The dancer holds jasmine,rose petals in her hands, that she will lays devotely to the God's feet (Lord Nataraj).
So during the dance, in the first part of the choreography, the dancer has Anjali mudras hands and works feet movements with a nice straight back.
Then, she worships the Divinity as well as the audience with a Namaskar (reverence/ prayer).
Finally, the dancer will performa technical part and an Abhinaya (devoted emotions for the God).
In the above extract, we worship Lord Ganesha during this adi thala Poojpanjali.
